Trippy Parenting

Tedd Tripp recently brought all the vowels of his name to Crowded House to speak about parenting:

We shouldn't teach five-year-olds to be decision-makers - we should model good decisions and obedience to authority. Teach them that it is a blessing to live under wise and loving authority.

God requires two specific things from children: that they obey and honor their parents. Humbly helping them to obey God from an early age in these 2 things is the most ultimately important thing we can do for them. Otherwise we are communicating that something other than love and reverence for our Father is the highest priority in our own lives. We lovingly require honour and obedience from our children not for our own comfort, but under God.
