I read the title to this post and wondered if this was yet another call to be a chest beating, retrosexual church planter.
But I think Sandy very helpfully says that to call Timothy tough or aggressive is as bad as calling him timid. His argument is that Timothy was a normal man asked to do a tough job - preach under fire.
Apologies. There's a fine line between being hip and being an embarrassment to your kids. I'm still learning:)
I read about it the other day. Your retrosexual is the opposite of your metrosexual. Doesn't use moisturiser. Wears flannies. Has a shed. Doesn't give a tinkers curse about how he looks. Refuses to enter the kitchen. That sort of thing.
I think I figured it out, but I kind of wanted a explanation anyway :) I like to think that in contrast to the Bloke, the retrosexual is self-aware. On embarrassment: I confirmed with Kate the other day that, yes, I will be one of those dads that embarrasses their kids so no apology necessary.
Oh how far this is from the original post, but Nick - go for it. be the uncool Dad.. there is something.. cool.. about it. My Dad is an uncool Dad. Made him even cooler as I got older.
