Steve gives some examples.
I kind of like the idea. What it does is forces us to change the way we think about technology. It is simply no longer 'just support to ministry', because ministry 'goes on in the real world'. Technology is a part of communication and relationships. It is now a fundamental part of ministry.
I think many churches need to wake up and stop putting technology into the 'that's nice but it doesn't really matter' camp.

Good stuff. It's been something that Nick and I have talked about quite a bit lately. Every church should have a 'Toby Ziegler' :) except with digital kung fu too.
Many churches may benefit from giving more attention to communications etc. However, web based communication can only ever be a useful tool.
I think it can also exclude people who don't spend all their time on computers or even do, but don't have access to social networking sites etc during work hours.
An admin support role should definitely be an early thing though. And attention should be given to all forms of relationships/communication.
However, even in the workplace, a vast preference is given to in-person meetings and communications (despite some people's preferences against in-person stuff).
